MUDEJAR

Winter in Andalusia… even when it’s practically summer all year long!

During the renovation, we used to call it “the fireplace room” —you’ll soon see why.
Over six years of major restoration work, we strove to preserve as much of the original features as possible.
Such as, of course, the fireplace! It was dismantled, restored, and unfortunately —due to hotel regulations— has become decorative only.
The originally planned bathroom had to be redesigned following a 15th-century archaeological discovery!
You won’t miss the So British touch in the living area with its Chesterfield sofa, nor the 1950s Murano wall lights in the bathroom that illuminate the space beautifully.
On the fireplace hangs a photograph, “Ho Chunk”, by George Bearskin. As an anecdote: it took me twenty years to realize that the “Native American woman” above that fireplace was actually… a man!
On the ceiling as you enter: the “PH Artichoke” light fixture by Poul Henningsen, Louis Poulsen edition, 1957.
Near the window, a very French Regency-era chest of drawers in rosewood, marble, and bronze.
To the right of the fireplace, a 1950s lamp by Fulvio Bianconi in Murano glass.
Beside the bathtub, a lamp base “Moor’s Head” by Piero Fornasetti in black ceramic.
On either side of the bed, Orno edition lamps by Kari Ruokonen from the 1970s.
On the wall to the left of the bed, the painting “EFC001” by Eric Fischl (USA), oil and resin on canvas.
Don’t look for the minibar —it’s simply a recycled and reinvented airplane trolley.

We are here to offer you the very best stay.
